The Consortium is a private organization which represents wineries, vine-growers, bottlers and cooperatives.
The essential goal of the Soave Consortium is the promotion and protection of the Soave Denomination, in abidance with the DOC and DOCG production regulations, and in the interest of all associates.
The Consortium also manages the province’s fledging Consortiums and Wine roads: Lessini Durello, Merlara and Arcole. Given its territorial reach, Soave is uniquely positioned to promote not only within the wine sector, but also to involve consumers through broader touristic promotions and events.
Soave today is one of the most charismatic and dynamic winemaking regions of Italy. Over the last ten years, the producers of our appellation have radically changed Soave’s stylistic profile, viticulture and winemaking, in a great surge for quality. The nuance of our terroir, the historical Cru vineyards, and the fascinating Garganega grape, make Soave a paradigm for understanding all serious, mineral Italian white wines.
Zoning, production identity, oenological competition, longevity, volcanic soil, the landscape, climate change and training systems are all major themes that have characterized the Soave Previews, in an often forward- looking and innovative way.
Soave, which is one of the most historicized appellations on the Italian panorama, gets the credit for having seen, since the very beginning, (anticipating trends and behaviour) these events as opportunities to showcase results achieved and the vision of future prospects for the wine and appellation.
